Basilian Motto recited each morning at Sacred Heart
We ask to learn goodness, discipline, and knowledge, and then are expected to share, teach, and serve as role models for others.
Goodness must be first, as discipline and knowledge flow from goodness.
We strive for external and internal self-control. The discipleship of Christ is our compass and our guide.
We strive to learn all we can of the wonders of God's creation. We learn for the purpose of goodness.
Founded in 2004, Sacred Heart of Jesus High School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), and is a member of both the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) and the National Association of Private Catholic Independent Schools (NAPCIS).
Our continuous growth is due to the dedication and superior training of our faculty, low student to teacher ratio, and the welcoming and inclusive nature of our student community. As a top private school, Sacred Heart offers excellent academics including regular, honors, and AP courses, as well as the opportunity to earn dual enrollment credits. Our graduates have a 100% college acceptance rate and exceed the national, state, and local averages on the ACT. SHJ students have been admitted to a wide range of colleges, including local and state schools, as well as nationally ranked and Ivy League universities.
We understand the financial struggles facing families today. Sacred Heart has the lowest tuition rate of any private high school in Jackson, and also offers financial aid. Our mission as a collegiate preparatory school is to help our students find opportunities to graduate from college debt-free. For many families, one long-term reward of investing in a Sacred Heart education is the continuous assistance our students receive to find college scholarship dollars. The 35-member Class of 2022 accepted over five million dollars in college scholarships. The potential benefits of debt-free higher education can far outweigh the cost of attending Sacred Heart.
We are now accepting applications for the upcoming school year. SHJ welcomes students of all faiths. We look forward to meeting you!
